It is an economical free zone. The business license fees in SHAMS free zone start from 5,750 AED for the zero visa package. For getting a visa in your company, you must rent a Flexi-desk on lease and pay for the visa allocation of 1,600 AED.
The entrepreneurs can perform the registration of the company completely remotely. It doesn’t matter if you are in UAE or living in any other country, you can get your company registered in a duration of almost one week.

The Sharjah Media City Free Zone allows the company's youngest shareholders to own the company, aged 19 and over. This is a big advantage that other free zones don't have. Company employees’ age can be up to 18 years old, which is also very unusual compared to other free zones. All company documents are electronic; you can print them anywhere and don't have to worry about losing the originals. Documents can be checked for authenticity at any time via the SHAMS website.
Company registration renewal, just like the setup, can be performed remotely by individuals. There is no need for any audit reports by the authority. The renewal fee is the same as the setup fee. On non renewal of your license based on its validity, fines will be applicable starting from AED 1,100 from the first month.
There are four licenses in the Shams Free Zone available for entrepreneurs or investors. These license options are trading, industrial, service level, or holding license. The choice of one of these options depends on the needs of the investor.
This type of license allows you to produce, reproduce, convert, and distribute the service. This type of license covers the provision of services as the primary purpose and the use of goods to provide them.
This type of license allows you to manufacture, reproduce, modify, and manufacture goods. You can open a company that is engaged in the manufacturing, re-production, processing and manufacturing of goods.
This type of license allows you to sell goods or import and export goods within Shams. It consists of movement of goods, wholesale and retail of goods; and providing services in connection with the sale of these goods. Wholesale and retail are some of the final steps in the distribution of goods.
This type of license allows you to hold assets and/or interests in another company. You always need a parent company to oversee other companies; it is a property like real estate, patents, brands, stocks and other assets.
